So, I've been a bit busy of late.

Hi there, bit of a different blogger entry today. Usually when I do these I'm making you aware of my videos on youtube, and of late I've been trying to branch out a bit a try other platforms, because, believe it or not, youtube isn't the only video sharing site these days. Oh no, there are other options out there. One of which is Minds.com, which I've really been using as more of an alternative to facebook, but you can upload videos there too and even monetise them. Problem is every time I tried to do that, the upload failed. Until last night when I tried again and guess what? It worked! Yay Minds. The other place I've had way more success with in general is vid.me. Sure I only have half the followers there that I have in terms of subscribers on youtube, but I get better views there. They are even beta testing their own monetising options too with adverts finally showing up there. Not that I've seen any ads over there yet. But I am getting more expos...

A look at some resistance bands

Image
The thing about exercise is, for as much good as it can and will do for you if you get into it, some exercises need special equipment that you can't take everywhere with you. And in some cases you might find doing the same thing can be a bit, boring after awhile. Thankfully there are a lot of different approaches to exercise and even the range of equipment you can use. Resistance bands are one such option amongst the veritable ocean full of fitness fads, equipment and celebrity endorsed fitness DVD's. They also seem to be one that professionals fit trainers actually recommend. So let's take a good first look at some, and the instruction manual they come with.

Neewer BG-E8 battery grip - Deja ReReview

Image
Deja ReReview is the series where I take a second look at items I've already gave the once over. In todays show I'm taking a good look at the battery grip I use for my canon EOS 700D when shooting outdoors for long periods, and share a few details about the trials, tribulations and mishaps I've had with the Neewer BG-E8, and how it's held up.

Taking a second look at the Rode pro mic - DeJa Re-Review

Image
And here we are with another bit of déjà vu, with another look at the Rode Pro mic, this time, not out of the box, and with a bit mileage on the clock, how has it fared since that fateful day when I unboxed it?

So I went and joined up with the National Trust, and much to my surprise I got given quite the members joining pack on the spot! But what do you get in all this lovely brown packaging before you get the actually membership card?

Yet another wooden sword review

Image
Thrust, parry, slice and thrust and parry and there you go, here's another look at yet more wooden swords.  Just when you thought I couldn't possible produce more of these, I go and produce more of these.  Have I saved the best till last?

How do you like your grub? Cold camp food test

Image
So continuing my look at camping food, here I go diving into another boil in the bag pack of goodness from Wayfrer. This time, cold from the bag. Sounds tasty.

Zoom in on this pair of Regatta binoculars

And I thought they just made outdoor clothing, turns out Regatta makes a whole load of outdoors stuff for all kinds of uses, like these binoculars. I wonder what else they make?

The waves came crashing down at Tynemouth pier - photoshoot

Image
And the waves came tumbling down. Living near the coast can be a great boon for a budding wannabe photographer like myself. So making use of what would otherwise be a bad day for most can make for some pretty good shots. More photos to come, but in the meantime feel free to watch the video montage.

Stanley Adventure Camp Cook Set Test, with Wayfayrer camping food - cooking test and review

Image
Remember all that camping gear I got a few videos back? Well, you've got to test things like that some time don't you? Now as memory serves, I picked up a cooking pot, a bowl and some lovely prepacked food meal. Can you say "Grubs up" and "Hmmmmmm, yummy" ? I know I can. And if you want to sing "Ging gang goolie", please check your age or your sanity.

Back to the Deloreans! Just how many of these things ARE there?

Image
Great Scott, this is heavy!  And what better way to start up the write up to a review of not one, not two, but three of everyone's favourite time machines? Ok, so the Tardis isn't here, if I find one of those I will review it, but right now, let's take a look at the car, or cars, of The Future! Oh and on an unrelated  issue, will the attendees of last years annual time travellers   convention  please make sure to leave the premises  before the attendees  of the annual time travellers  convention form five years in the future show up? Thank you.

More wanders through Beamish museum - photo vlog

Image
What this? Another photoshoot? Another trip around Beamish? You might ask yourself if I've started living there or something, and truth be told, if it was possible to do so, I think I would do just that if I could. Photos to come, but in the meantime, please feel free to watch the video: And here's some of the pics, better late than never :)
