The great outdoors Shopping Haul, Let's Get Ready For Camping!

Image
Every now and then I like to go out for very long walks along the coast, in the wilderness, and any other place where I can get away from the humdrum boredom of everyday real life.  But there's always one thing we really need no matter where we are or what we are doing.  And that is to eat.  And drink. And with that in mind I went to my local camping shop,  Ok, a camping shop nearby me, and bought a load of stuff for just that. That's right, it's another haul, and best off, it's all practical stuff that could be handy. For once As always, click below for more subsistence. I mean food for thought. I mean, the main course..... I knew I should have picked something other then the food packets for my thumbnail. Nom nom nom.

The Worst Presidents the USA has ever had (so far)

Image
The CEO in Chief of the USA Donald Trump is now well and truly sworn in and already doing everything he seems to think he has to in order to “Make America Great Again”, which seems to involving lots of weekends off on the golf course and managing to enrage many different groups with the amazingly sound actions he had already taken as soon as his fake tanned backside sat down in the oval office. These groups range from women's rights movements to entire countries the USA is allied with or have trade deals with, and more recently, Putin. Oh dear...... And these actions include signing legislation to make abortion illegal, and tearing up agreements signed by Obama because…. They were signed by Obama. It looks like he’s set to be considered one of the worst presidents of the United States by many, before he’d even had a week in office, with various protests made before he was even sworn in and the turnout to his inauguration being one of the lowest ever. Unless you believe ...

A good head of steam! Hornby R3500 Sir Nigel Gresley Collection

Image
Who likes railways? Who likes model railways? Allllllll aboard! Sir Nigel Gresley may not have been the father of the steam engine but certainly some very good contributions to the development of the steam engine. Hornby have gathered four of his engines into this special collection of electric models that even the most casual fan of railways and engines will enjoy as much as the most hardcore collector. Decked out in the their classic LNER livery, these four engines are beautiful examples of model railway engines, rich in detail, and ready to go straight from the box, so long as you have track already laid out and a control bloc, because these don't come with either, nor do they have any carriages or trucks to pull or shunt either. But what are they like fresh from the box? Watch the review here.

The joys of restrictive mode, or how YouTube is shooting itself in it's digital foot.

Image
Ok, we've probably all heard at some point in the last few months youtubers mention that their video views are down, and everything seems to be blamed from changes in the algorithm to glitches and bugs and bad coding to Pewdiepies fiver video fiasco to advertisers pulling their ads because apparently terrorists have videos up on youtube. I really don't want to go searching on that to confirm if it's true or not, there are some keywords you do not want showing up in your search history. But I think, of all people, Onision has finally hit the nail on the head with the hammer, and found out just what might be the real reason behind this all. Restrictive mode. That's right, right at the bottom of the page is the option to turn on or off the restrictive mode, all in an effort by youtube to prevent "questionable content" being seen. Now I've only just watched the video Onision has put up on this, and whatever you may think of him, when he does look int...

Need to keep your DSLR charged up for vloging? SinFoxeon Ack-E8 AC Power Adaptor

Image
Ever been caught short?  ..... erm, of Power that is for your DSLR when your off taking some great pics or shooting videos? Ok, maybe that's a tad outdated. I certainly do, and I use my cannon 700D (aka the rebel t5i) a lot for filming the videos I make for youtube, and even with a battery grip with two fully charged batteries lodged inside, it they can still run out of juice sooner or later, sometimes even when filming, which can be annoying. If only there was a solution. Oh wait, there is? Enter the SinFoxeon Ack-E8 AC Power Adaptor, a nifty little add on for this kind of camera and several others too. Click on the image below to go and watch my first impressions on the unboxing and first use. Follow up review to come, I'm still giving this a good bit of field testing.

Swords, swords, swords, unboxing review on location! And some house keeping.

Ok, no Let's Play this week as I've not got access to my gaming PC, and I've not got all my equipment with me right now, but that doesn't mean no content today, oh no.  I've been busy making review videos at my secret location, so I'm aiming to have two maybe three review videos a week for the foreseeable future, before things return to normal. I also have other plans for the channel, to expand it's range and scope of content a tad. And I'm working on those as we speak. Don't worry Let's Play will still be a part of that too, and my ultimate aim is to be in a position to make uploads Monday to Friday, making more use of my blogger and other social media as well. Anyhow, onto the review proper, today's review sees me go a bit medieval, which is another theme I'm thinking of exploring more in future as well, and as a bit of first hand experience, I decided to get my hands on a few different items to help me acclimatise a bit ...

Now, why do they call these a black light?

Image
Ever felt the need to take a really good long look at your surroundings and see what you can't see? You know, imperfections in the paint job on your walls, minute scratches on your car, if that rather unpleasant smell in your kitchen was an unwelcome gift from your pet dog. Or maybe you just want to see the world burn? Well if it's the latter, then you should seek some help, but if it's any of the former, or you just want to see something funky, then you might want to look at a UV blacklight, just like this one.

The Daily Fail strikes again

When, I do wonder, will the Daily Mail actually bother to put more then a few seconds of research into their articles, or not just jump to one conclusion and stick with it to the end, even when it's proven wrong? I also wonder when will Daily Mail readers actually bother to check the sources of some of these articles, especially when they relate to something rather easy to check, like a youtube video. I've just watched a video by Skallagrim regarding the Daily Mail's "Article" about a video that has been taken down by youtube because it's a "How to" video, an instructional video, on how to defeat a stab proof vest on the Slingshot channel. Yeah, you read that right, defeat a stab proof vest. But the thing is, it WASN'T a "how to" video, it wasn't giving instructions on how to "Beat" a stab proof vest, it was testing how resilient it was, if it was indeed worth the money paid and if it could save the life of someone using...

Remember I said I made a new section on the Bloggers Page menu?

Image
Well, guess what? I've only gone and made some more new pages as well, each as different from the others then the last one. No, no your right that last line made no sense but do I look like I care? Well, I do, now go and check them out and tell them I sent you. For all kinds of Fitness stuff click Here . If you like art and need some supplies or stationary ideas, look Here . And if your passion in life is taking photos you might want to look Here . Actually, you know you want to, Writing these sections up and getting them edited has been a learning curve in of itself and cleared up a few issues I've been having learning how to write the bloggers posts, so I'll be applying those lessons going forward as well as fixing some errors on previous posts that have been bugging me. But right now my hands are aching from all the work.

Ok, I've just made a new section for the blogger!

Something it guaranteed* to put a smile on your face,  If you look over to the Pages section, you will see a new, shiny link there, that wasn't there a few minutes before this post was made. And given I'm still writing this post, as obviously I can't post it till I've finished it, I'd better get on with it and tell you what it is. It's a Comedy section! Yes, I have made some attempts at being funny. Not maybe any good but what the hey, certainly worth giving it a shot right? Please put the gun down. Anyhow, if you'd like to see if I can put a smile on your face, click that link over there, or alternatively, click this link HERE ! *Guarantee is voided if you don't smile.
