Taking another look at the DuraPro Lp-E8 battery charger

Image
Charging batteries is pretty much essential for those of us who like to use electronic goods, and when it comes to pieces of kit that can only use specially designed batteries like a DSLR camera, then you tend to find yourself buying more batteries to get around this limitation and finding you need a faster charger then the one that came as standard with your camera, that only charges one battery at a time, very slowly.  So after a fair bit of use, how does my DuroPro Lp-E8 stand up?

Food special! Tuna can pack!

Another look at the Velbon up-400 Monopod

Image
Sometimes a hobby will teach you things, about yourself and the hobby itself. In the matter of photography balance and stability is a fairly major issue. And finding the right bit of kit to help stop the camera shaking and ruining your pics can be a bit of trial and error. Tripods and monopods both have their own pros and cons, one will be strong in some regard than the other, with neither being an outright winner. But how do things stack up for my trusty (and slightly rusty) Velbon up-400 Monopod as I take a second look after I've made more extension use of it? Especially at it pulled double duty as a walking stick.

Some brand new art supplies, cutting board, portfolio and colouring pencils

Image
Every hobby has some great little pluses and bonuses, and hopefully few if any negatives and you should always be able to learn and grow from your experiences. In this case, I've learned that certain supplies need to be replaced (well more reminded in that case as certain previous supplies have either ran out or weren't that good) and there will always be a need to store things I don't want to get damaged somewhere safe, and in something safe. Ok, so that was more reminders in both cases. So in answer to these points I got me a new set of colouring pencils and a portfolio carry case.  And I got a cutting board because I fancied one and the price was good too.

A look at some resistance bands

Image
The thing about exercise is, for as much good as it can and will do for you if you get into it, some exercises need special equipment that you can't take everywhere with you. And in some cases you might find doing the same thing can be a bit, boring after awhile. Thankfully there are a lot of different approaches to exercise and even the range of equipment you can use. Resistance bands are one such option amongst the veritable ocean full of fitness fads, equipment and celebrity endorsed fitness DVD's. They also seem to be one that professionals fit trainers actually recommend. So let's take a good first look at some, and the instruction manual they come with.

BaByliss hair clippers - a second look

So here I am, cutting to the chase, it's a re-review, a second look at the BaByliss hair clipper! Complete with demonstration! Oh you lucky people, is it your birthday or something?

Neewer Ring Flash Light Kit Unboxing and first impressions - Review

Image
Well like any aspiring photographer and youtuber wannabe, there comes a time when you decide to upgrade your existing kit a bit, and given what kind of videos I normally do, lighting can be a big factor in how the visuals come out. So I went and bought me a nice Neewer Ring Flash Light Kit. I'll tell you now, no flashing was involved. That was a disappointment.

The X5 bullworker - a second look.

Image
Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the home workout routines. Here I am trying my hand at the good old bullworker, making my muscles work against each other in a bid for physical fitness. Has a bit of time and effort using this thing changed my mind on it's pros and cons and the results it can deliver?

Another wander with my camera - photography

You know me by now, I'm in love with the camera, but am I any good at taking pictures with it?

Pulling out some Chest Expanders!

Image
Well, it had to happen sooner or later, I take a good long second look at some chest expanders I got myself a little while back. One is the good old fashioned spring based version,  design classic you might say, while the other is those lovely new fangled rubber resistance bands things which are a bit of the rage these days. So what do I think of them after having put them through their paces for a while now?
