No Formal Training

So where have I been and why am I dusting this blogger off right now?      First off all, hello, and welcome to the blog. I've not done one of these in quite a while, the back end of 2017 to be exact, and even then that was more in support of my youtube channel rather then specific articles. Which wasn't actually the ides originally, I had every intention of posting the videos on here along with more of a details write up, but that really played out.   But I'm back with a review of Star Trek Picards first episode , which I had to say I enjoyed, but you can read more about that in the review, right now I have a couple of  other things I have to talk about.   Where have I been as far as this blog is concerned? Star Trek Picard Episode 1 Remembrance review Spoilers ahead, so beware   So Jean Luc Picard is back on our screens with this return to the The Next Generation era of Star Trek. Set after the destruction of the Romulan homeworld which led to the creation of the Kelvin timeline, this return to the prime timeline is a welcome one, which feels to fans like me who grew up watching TNG, like the return of a dear old friend, or even two as this also marks the return of Sir Patrick Stewart after such a long time away from the role.   And time has moved on for Picard, no longer a Captain or even an Admiral, he’s now returned to his family vineyard in California, I mean, France, and is now living out his retirement with his beloved dog, named number one, and a husband and wife Romulan couple, Laris and and Zhaban who act as his housekeepers in thanks for his efforts in rescuing the Romulan people from the supernova that destroyed their homeworld.   But all is not well...

Pssst, Fighting Fantasy fans, remember this classic adventure game book? Sword of the Samurai?   Sword of the Samurai is probably one of the most unique in the Fighting Fantasy series, set in a rich Japanese fantasy world, and adding it's own unique touches to the Fighting Fantasy role playing series, this is quite the must read. Craghoppers, the brand behind various hiking clothes like trousers and shirts, have not sent me anything to review. Because why would they? I bought this myself to wear when I go and do stuff outside, like hiking or camping, so I've put it through it's paces a fair bit, so here's my video review of it. Never fear, James Bond is here. Don’t think that was a line in any of the movies but now I have 23 of them in this nifty box set I can quickly check that.  After a few hours of watching the movies that is. But any way, he's got a license to kill, I've got a license to review! Let's see what happens when I put Bond in my sights. Erm..... second thoughts, let's not point anything at that man.

Star Trek changed everything, and this box set's designers certainly tried to take things out of the box when they came up with the box set concepts by using the concepts and themes and even props used as equipment from the show in their efforts to bring us all something a bit different. But how does it all hold up when put under the lens of my camera as I beam down to my reviewing table to scan it with my own sensors?

So I got my hands on a good old fashioned Oral B electric toothbrush that I had forgotten I had and only charged up once a few years back. Does it still work? Is it any good? So I charged it up, setup the camera, and here's the results for you to see in glorious video!   

Geralt The Witcher, is now available in the form of a vinyl figure for all you collectors out here, and it's not from the people who make the same identikit bobble headed types. This is from jink, or j!nk if you want to get serious about it, and as such it stands out straight away in it's own stylised way that is still instantly recognisable as the White Wolf himself.

Hi there, bit of a different blogger entry today. Usually when I do these I'm making you aware of my videos on youtube, and of late I've been trying to branch out a bit a try other platforms, because, believe it or not, youtube isn't the only video sharing site these days. Oh no, there are other options out there. One of which is Minds.com, which I've really been using as more of an alternative to facebook, but you can upload videos there too and even monetise them. Problem is every time I tried to do that, the upload failed. Until last night when I tried again and guess what? It worked! Yay Minds. The other place I've had way more success with in general is vid.me. Sure I only have half the followers there that I have in terms of subscribers on youtube, but I get better views there. They are even beta testing their own monetising options too with adverts finally showing up there. Not that I've seen any ads over there yet. But I am getting more expos...
