Need to keep your DSLR charged up for vloging? SinFoxeon Ack-E8 AC Power Adaptor

Image
Ever been caught short?  ..... erm, of Power that is for your DSLR when your off taking some great pics or shooting videos? Ok, maybe that's a tad outdated. I certainly do, and I use my cannon 700D (aka the rebel t5i) a lot for filming the videos I make for youtube, and even with a battery grip with two fully charged batteries lodged inside, it they can still run out of juice sooner or later, sometimes even when filming, which can be annoying. If only there was a solution. Oh wait, there is? Enter the SinFoxeon Ack-E8 AC Power Adaptor, a nifty little add on for this kind of camera and several others too. Click on the image below to go and watch my first impressions on the unboxing and first use. Follow up review to come, I'm still giving this a good bit of field testing.

Swords, swords, swords, unboxing review on location! And some house keeping.

Ok, no Let's Play this week as I've not got access to my gaming PC, and I've not got all my equipment with me right now, but that doesn't mean no content today, oh no.  I've been busy making review videos at my secret location, so I'm aiming to have two maybe three review videos a week for the foreseeable future, before things return to normal. I also have other plans for the channel, to expand it's range and scope of content a tad. And I'm working on those as we speak. Don't worry Let's Play will still be a part of that too, and my ultimate aim is to be in a position to make uploads Monday to Friday, making more use of my blogger and other social media as well. Anyhow, onto the review proper, today's review sees me go a bit medieval, which is another theme I'm thinking of exploring more in future as well, and as a bit of first hand experience, I decided to get my hands on a few different items to help me acclimatise a bit ...

Now, why do they call these a black light?

Image
Ever felt the need to take a really good long look at your surroundings and see what you can't see? You know, imperfections in the paint job on your walls, minute scratches on your car, if that rather unpleasant smell in your kitchen was an unwelcome gift from your pet dog. Or maybe you just want to see the world burn? Well if it's the latter, then you should seek some help, but if it's any of the former, or you just want to see something funky, then you might want to look at a UV blacklight, just like this one.

The Daily Fail strikes again

When, I do wonder, will the Daily Mail actually bother to put more then a few seconds of research into their articles, or not just jump to one conclusion and stick with it to the end, even when it's proven wrong? I also wonder when will Daily Mail readers actually bother to check the sources of some of these articles, especially when they relate to something rather easy to check, like a youtube video. I've just watched a video by Skallagrim regarding the Daily Mail's "Article" about a video that has been taken down by youtube because it's a "How to" video, an instructional video, on how to defeat a stab proof vest on the Slingshot channel. Yeah, you read that right, defeat a stab proof vest. But the thing is, it WASN'T a "how to" video, it wasn't giving instructions on how to "Beat" a stab proof vest, it was testing how resilient it was, if it was indeed worth the money paid and if it could save the life of someone using...

Remember I said I made a new section on the Bloggers Page menu?

Image
Well, guess what? I've only gone and made some more new pages as well, each as different from the others then the last one. No, no your right that last line made no sense but do I look like I care? Well, I do, now go and check them out and tell them I sent you. For all kinds of Fitness stuff click Here . If you like art and need some supplies or stationary ideas, look Here . And if your passion in life is taking photos you might want to look Here . Actually, you know you want to, Writing these sections up and getting them edited has been a learning curve in of itself and cleared up a few issues I've been having learning how to write the bloggers posts, so I'll be applying those lessons going forward as well as fixing some errors on previous posts that have been bugging me. But right now my hands are aching from all the work.

Ok, I've just made a new section for the blogger!

Something it guaranteed* to put a smile on your face,  If you look over to the Pages section, you will see a new, shiny link there, that wasn't there a few minutes before this post was made. And given I'm still writing this post, as obviously I can't post it till I've finished it, I'd better get on with it and tell you what it is. It's a Comedy section! Yes, I have made some attempts at being funny. Not maybe any good but what the hey, certainly worth giving it a shot right? Please put the gun down. Anyhow, if you'd like to see if I can put a smile on your face, click that link over there, or alternatively, click this link HERE ! *Guarantee is voided if you don't smile.

If your a photography fan, this little trick to make it look like "Fine Art" might amaze you

I've just seen this most amazing technique on digitalrev's website, and it blew me away. Twice. First with the look of the image they shared, then again with the simplicity of how they did it via photoshop. Yeah it's a trick using photoshop, take a good picture and find some way to make it look even better by adding a little of the photoshop magic over it in subtle, but effective ways. And even if you don't have photoshop you'll be able to recreate the same effect in any halfway decent image editor. Obviously MS Paint doesn't count. Anyhow as this is their article, I'm not going to spoil it for you here, and I'm certainly not going to claim credit where credit is not due on my part. But I can give you a link . So check it out, and see what else they have to inspire your photography.

Let's do a little throwback Thursday, for once, with some Medieval Knights from English Heritage

Image
Not all the way back to my very first video, not that old, and that's on a different subject all together, but still certainly a golden oldie, in which I take a good look over some figures from The English Heritage gift shops from a few trips to some of their castles. Knights on foot, Knights on horseback, archers, footmen, oh, and a King! There's a pretty good selection going there methinks my liege, and that was but the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Check it out by clicking on the video the right. Now I just need somewhere to keep them all. Like a castle.

And tonight's episode of Subnautica

Image
Is now LIVE!!!! Well, I think my base is just about done now, just a few odd bits to finish, but I think I can go and start to do some serious exploring. Now that WILL be fun :D

Happy Hump Day! A new episode of Subnautica is uploading right now.

But while your waiting for that, why not checkout my list of Let's Plays I've already made? There's a pretty good selection up for your viewing pleasure, and there's plenty more where they came from coming to you via this blogger rather soon. Just as soon as I film em, edit em and upload em. And make em go live. Have I said "em" enough yet? Go check em out by clicking Here :D
